Coldest Night of the Year 2022SENDING A BIG HUGE THANK YOU AND VIRTUAL HUG TO ALL! Our walk took place Feb 26th, and fortunately… it was NOT , the Coldest Night of the year! Lol I am very thankful for all of you in contributing to our walk to raise money for The Parkland Food Bank. Our Group successfully raised a Total of $2174.50 Spruce Groves Goal for this season was to Raise $80,000 for the Parkland Food Bank, And they are currently just shy of their goal of $78,838! Rotary ScholarshipRotary Club of Parkland After Dark (PAD) Scholarship Application: Due February 28, 2018 WE ARE PEOPLE OF ACTION AND WE WANT TO GIVE YOU MONEY!!! The Rotary Club of Parkland After Dark is offering a $1,300.00 scholarship for any student entering their first year of post-secondary education (including registered apprenticeships). Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need or volunteerism. Presentation to Dogs with WingsA Cheque Presentation was made to The Executive Director of Dgos With Wings
- John Wheelwright by Club Treasurer Kristi Larson & President Jeremy McConnell. Dogs with Wings is a group that trains assistant dogs for the blind and also for autistic children, some of who are in Spruce Grove & Stony Plain. We are hoping to build this relationship into an annual support program. |

Guest Speaker - Corrie Rhyasen ErdmanCorrie Erdmand is the Literacy coordinator for PAL - which is Parkland Adult Literacy. PAL is a non-profit organization that assists adults in developing literacy & language skills to achieve their educational, employability and personal goals. Corrie explained what the organization offers, let us know how we can be involved if interested, provided us the latest stats on literacy etc.... Great presentation - thanks to Corrie! |

Guest Speaker - Ryan DavisRyan Davis - husband to President Miranda Davis, was our guest speaker on March 11/13. Ryan Davis - known as Ryner Safety, CRSP is an Occupational Health & Safety Consultant. Ryan is a contract Trainer for the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA). Ryan presented us with very important information regarding safety in the workplace. Explained the ERP - Emergency Response Plan, MSDS - Materials Safety Data Sheet, along with other important information. Thanks to Ryan for the great presentation! |

Guest Speaker - Diane BrownDiane Brown came to our meeting to speak about something that she is very passionate about - and speak she did! Diane worked for the Credit Union for 28 years and was approached by the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton to work for them. During her 5 years there, she raised a total of 7 million dollars!! Diane is now volunteering at Auggies Cafe - which is at St. Augustine's - Parkland Anglican Church' This is a place where anyone can congregate for a hot meal and some fellowship and conversation - Every Tuesday from 11am until 1pm. |

Awards for Parkland After Dark!!Assistant Governor Sil Haisan was a guest at our meeting on Monday Oct 29. He presented us 2 Awards. Public Relations & Marketing for Tri Club Rotary Ad. And The Gilbert Paterson Award, Best Club Project, for the Tri Club for Rotary Run for Life. We were both surprised and excited to receive these awards. Accepting this award was President Miranda Davis. |

Guest Speaker at Monday Nights Meeting
Our Guest Speaker was Danielle O'Donnell from the Mosaic Centre in NW Edmonton. Danielle is a volunteer at the Centre. The Mosaic Centre is a safe place where people facing all aspects of poverty may turn to for direction & mentoring. The staff connect with clients & assist them in identifying their needs as they overcome challenges. The Centre offers AA meetings & parent & tot meetings. They assist with job searches, housing info. They provide a safe place for coffee & conversation, free laundry & personal care items, phone,fax & computer access. They see an average of 100 people daily. The Mosaic Centre is a partnership of Emmaus Lutheran, Steele Heights Baptist and Trinity Christian Reformed Churches and E4C. We promised we would deliver & it is happening - Out Door Green Park.....Our outdoor green gym project has now been approved by The Town of Stony Plain council. .
